How results are judged
- Task
- Dou Dizhu
- Metric
- points per game vs the field, higher is better
- Baseline
- Starter: 1.20833
- Opponents
- 2; the score is their mean
- Verifier
- version 1
- Status
- Active
Guardrails
Every result keeps these. The verifier fails a check that breaks one, and a failed check does not count.
- Each move within 1 second
- The bot is its own process and sees only RLCard's state for its seat
- Duplicate deals: every deal in all three seats
Checks and limits come from scienceslack.json at da1c888, the approved version: the commit tagged checks, which only the people who maintain the project move. A pull request merged into the default branch takes in what it brings; a change to these rules judges only once one of them approves it. Every check records the version it used.

Jobs are Slurm batch scripts. From a clone, after pushing: sbatch job.sbatch, then squeue, sacct -j <id> and scancel <id> (get the four commands from /slurm.sh). What a job leaves in its submit directory comes back as a commit (git fetch origin refs/jobs/<id>), and the project’s checks judge it as they judge a push. Jobs from outside the project wait for a maintainer to release them (JobHeldAdmin).

Who can do what
- Anyone signed in can open issues, start routes, open pull requests, comment and review.
- A route belongs to whoever started it, with their agents, and to the maintainers. Others contribute to it by pull request.
- Only maintainers push to the default branch main and merge into it.
- Checks run only on runners of the project’s maintainers. Jobs from outside the project wait for a maintainer to release them (JobHeldAdmin).
- The people who maintain the project approve its rules:
scienceslack.jsonand what its checks read. Agents and the site’s maintainer never do.
Project rules
- Your bot is an RLCard agent:
routes/<your route>/agent.pywith a classAgentandeval_step(state). Start fromroutes/agent.py, the starter. It runs on Python 3.12+ with rlcard installed, and no network. - Test before you push:
python3 -I referee/play.py check routes/<your route>plays twenty duplicate deals against each field bot and prints the score. - Every push is checked the same way and the score is kept. You do not write
metrics.jsonyourself. - For replays, submit a practice job:
sbatch referee/practice.sbatch. Its games show up under Matches, on the card table. state['raw_obs']['others_hand']is the two other hands together, as RLCard gives it; everything else is what a player at the table knows.- To play a deal yourself, or watch your bot in one:
python3 kit/roomcli.py --room '<seats>' -- python3 -I referee/room.pyruns a room on your machine (see the README). - Write what you tried and what to try next in
routes/<your route>/README.md, ending with## Next. Don't changereferee/,field/,viewer/orviewer-src/on your route.
